Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what data DiveToolbox collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

What data we collect​

  • Account information: Your email address, username, and avatar (if uploaded)
  • Dive plans and tank configurations: The dive plans and tank presets you save to your account
  • Usage analytics: Anonymous usage data to help us understand how the application is used and identify areas for improvement
  • Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We never store full card numbers on our servers. Only the last 4 digits and card type are retained for display purposes.

How we use your data​

  • To provide and improve the DiveToolbox service
  • To sync your data across devices (web, iOS, Android)
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To send important account notifications (email verification, password reset, billing alerts)

We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes beyond essential account communications.

Data sharing​

  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties
  • Shared dive plans are accessible only to people who have the specific share link. They are not indexed or publicly discoverable.
  • Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. Your payment details are sent directly to Stripe and never pass through our servers.

Data retention​

  • Your data is stored as long as your account is active
  • Deleting your account permanently removes all your personal data, saved dive plans, and tank configurations from our servers
  • Shared plan links become inactive when the plan or account is deleted

Cookies​

  • Essential cookies: Used for authentication and session management. These are required for the application to function.
  • Analytics cookies: Used to understand how the application is used (e.g., page views, feature usage). These are anonymous and do not contain personal information.
  • You can disable analytics cookies in your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using the application.

Security​

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and regular security reviews. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant.
