Reading Results
Once you have configured your depth, bottom time, and at least one tank, the planner automatically calculates and displays a full results panel. This page explains each section of the results so you can interpret your dive plan at a glance.

Main stats grid
At the top of the results panel, four key metrics summarize your dive:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Total Runtime | Total time in minutes from the start of descent to surfacing |
| Max Depth | The maximum depth reached during the dive |
| Deco Time | Total time spent at decompression stops (0 for no-deco dives) |
| Avg Depth | Time-weighted average depth across the entire dive, used for SAC rate calculations |
These values update instantly whenever you change any dive parameter.
Safety metrics
Below the stats grid, five safety indicators give you a quick health check of your plan. Each indicator uses a color scale: green for safe, orange for approaching limits, and red for exceeded limits.

PPO2 (Partial Pressure of Oxygen)
Displays separate values for the Bottom phase and the Deco phase of your dive.
- Green: within your configured PPO2 limits
- Orange: exceeds the recommended limit
- Red: high oxygen toxicity risk
CNS O2 (Central Nervous System Oxygen Toxicity)
Tracks cumulative CNS oxygen exposure as a percentage.
- Green: below 80%
- Orange: between 80% and 100%
- Red: above 100% (acute toxicity risk)
OTU (Oxygen Tolerance Units)
Measures pulmonary (whole-body) oxygen toxicity exposure.
- Green: below 240 OTU
- Orange: between 240 and 300 OTU
- Red: above 300 OTU
END (Equivalent Narcotic Depth)
Shows the narcotic effect of your gas mix at the planned depth, expressed as an equivalent depth on air.
- Green: below 30 m
- Orange: between 30 m and 40 m
- Red: above 40 m
Gas Density
Displays the density of your breathing gas in grams per liter at the maximum depth.
- Green: below 5.2 g/L
- Orange: between 5.2 g/L and 6.2 g/L
- Red: above 6.2 g/L
High gas density increases work of breathing and CO2 retention risk. If the indicator is orange or red, consider using a lighter gas mix (higher helium content) or reducing your planned depth.
Deco status badge
A badge below the safety metrics indicates the decompression status of your plan:
- "No Decompression Required" (green): the dive stays within no-decompression limits.
- "Decompression Dive, X stops" (orange): the dive requires mandatory decompression stops.
When the plan is a decompression dive, the badge is clickable. Clicking it opens a modal that shows the full decompression schedule (each stop depth, duration, and the gas used) along with the gradient factor settings applied.
Dive profile chart
The chart provides a visual representation of your dive plan over time.
Dive profile chart with depth profile, decompression ceiling, gas switch markers, and phase regions. planner-profile-chart-light.png / planner-profile-chart-dark.png
The chart includes the following elements:
- Blue gradient area: the depth profile of the dive over time
- Red area: the decompression ceiling (the depth above which you must not ascend at that point in the dive)
- Green vertical lines: gas switch events, marking when the planner schedules a transition to a different gas mix
- Colored background regions: distinguish the dive phases (descent, bottom, ascent, and deco)
- X-axis: time in minutes
- Y-axis: depth
Hover over the chart to see exact depth and time values at any point along the profile.
Dive plan table
Below the chart, a detailed table breaks the dive into individual segments.

Each row represents a segment of the dive and includes:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Phase | The type of segment (descent, bottom, ascent, deco stop, gas switch) |
| Depth range | Start and end depth for the segment |
| Duration | Time spent in this segment |
| Runtime | Cumulative time from the start of the dive |
| Gas used | Volume of gas consumed during the segment |
| PPO2 | Partial pressure of oxygen during the segment |
Rows are color-coded by phase type so you can quickly distinguish bottom time from ascent and deco segments. A footer row shows the totals for duration, runtime, and gas consumption across the entire dive.
